Loretta's Story
I always wanted to be a social worker when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a strange idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. It took me 35 years but I finally realized my dream of being a social worker. This was after being a 911 operator most of my life. I worked as a social worker for 3 years. I worked with At-Risk juveniles and loved it. I was forced to go back to working at the 911 Center when the agency I worked for lost their state contract and had a reduction in force. fficult part of that job was getting over the desire to load up the kids and take them home. My youngest son and his wife ended up "adopting" one of the kids that I most wanted to take home.
2013 -
My life has changed drastically since I wrote before. I retired for three years, recently returning to work at the Sheriff's Office. I lost my daughter-in-law in a car accident in 2007. This was my youngest son's wife. I lost my youngest son in January of this year. Going back to work keeps my mind busy.
