Melissa's Story
Whiel at Carondelet I was in sports a lot. I sang in chior and spent every morning sitting on the benches in the inner court. If you ever wanted to fine me that's where I was before school started. After I graduated in 78, I went to DVC for one year and then decited to join the Army. I served my country and then I came back home to the bay area with my new partner. We Lived with my mother for a short time and then found our own place in Concord and lived there for several years. I worked for a fund rasing company for 7 years. Unfortunitly I found my self in the throws of addiction(Alcohol and Drugs) for 9 years and in 1989 I entered into Addiction treatment and have been a members of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 22yrs years.My partner and I seperated in 1998. In 1999 I met my current wife and we've been very happy .. My wife has two children...Expand for more
who are now married and we have 7 grand children and they are my joy. Once I was clean and sober for a year I went back to DVC and recived my Certificet as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor and have worked in the field of Addiction since 1991. I recived my BA in Psychology in 2005 and I am currently hold a "License Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor" Credential (LAADC).I have since retired after working for 28 yrs. I love camping and watching baseball ( go Oakland A's). For the past 7 yrs I've watched my grandsons move up in baseball and love going to their games. My wife and I have been retired, event though she stills works part time for DVC, we have traveled to Europe for two weeks last year. It was a trip of a life time. I have reached out and have connected with a class mate yet we have not met due to the COVID 19. I wishe the best for everyone.
