Raymond Kohn:  

1978- UAW/GM Plant Worker 1979- Lived in Venice, Florida; work at lumber store on Siesta Key, Florida; life was good but expensive. 1979- Joined U.S. Navy 1981- Completed UDT/SEAL Training, Coronado, CA 1981-1997 Served in Korea, Bahrain, Persian Gulf, Republic of Philippines, Panama, Kuwait, Turkey, Japan, Bangladesh and Australia. Served in direct combat operations in Iran/Iraq War 1987, Panama Invasion 1989, Desert Storm/Desert Shield 1990-1991. Participated in Humanitarian Relief Operations: Philippines, Turkey and Bangladesh. 1981- Survived a tiger shark attack, Pensacola, Florida during water survival training ops. 1982 - Played softball on Okinawa against the Happy Days Show's softball team; got a couple hits off Henry Winkler and flirted with Linda Purl (she took my hat (cover) and wore it the rest of the games; she told me to come to Hollywood to get it back). 1983- Assisted the USO in providing security for VIPs visiting Okinawa to entertain the troops: Hank Williams, Jr, Joan Jett and Kris Kistofferson; spent a day with Joan Jett and a couple with Hank Williams, Jr. (and the Bama Band) , all really nice people, but thought Joan Jett could kick my butt. 1984 - Survived a CH-53 helicopter crash in Pohang, South Korea that killed 31 comrades. Operation Raid-X, where we were training for a couple weeks to go into North Korea to rescue possible American POWs from sighting and evidence. Day of actual operation the crash occurred when we hit an unexpected storm in the middle of the night. Pilots could not see out of their night vision goggles and hit the top of a mountain. I was very lucky. 1987 - Met US Senator Edward Kennedy in Bahrain; next day met Bob Hope, Connie Stevens, Lee Greenwood and Baraba Eden. 1988 - Participated in Operation Praying Mantis when we destroyed the Iranian Navy that tired to attack us during the Iran-Iraq War. 1988- Met President Ronald Reagan in San Diego, CA. 1989 - Survived the assault on Manual Noriega's airfield/airplane in Panama during Operation Just Cause to ensure he would not escape Panama; Unit was successful in his capture with U.S. Army Rangers and 101st Air force Unit and the rescue of the U.S. Ambassador to Panama. Unit Task Force White, Team III, Charlie Company. 1989 - Rescued Americans trapped in Manila, Philippines that were caught in in the Presidential Coup attempt on President Corizon Aquino; engaged in fire fights with al Qaeda's - Albo Sadid factions. Member of CSSD-35. 1991 - Successfully completed special operation missions into Iraq during Gulf War and after cease fire- Operation Provide Comfort, to rescue Kurdish orphans from a catholic orphanage that was over taken by Saddam Hussein's military. Saved by the 101 Airborne Rangers who pulled us out of a fire fight with Iraqi forces. Authored book/movie script about this mission. 1991- Met President George H. Bush - in Kuwait. 1991- Survived volcanic eruption of Mount Pinatubo, Philippines; trapped in building for days when volcanic ash buried buildings/town in volcanic ash. 1992 - Met President William Clinton (never thought he'd be elected). Brief movie career while stationed in Coronado, CA 1988- Attended Acting School - San Diego, Ca- paired up in class with Kathy "Kat" Ireland and another actress - Jane Adams. 1980 to 88 - Movie actor/extra in "Officer and Gentleman" with Richard Gere and Lou Gossett Jr. , "Secret Admirer" with Lori Loghlin and Kelly Preston, "Alien from L.A." with Kathy Ireland. Movie actor/extra "Like Father Like Son" with Dudley Moore/Kirk Cameron. Listed in Internet Movie Data Base "IMDB.com. 1988 - Brief on stage acting role at Abbey Theater, Sand Diego, CA in "Danny in the Deep Blue Sea". (Acting career ended when transferred to Japan in 1989). 1988-1989 - Lived in San Diego, California; lived on Mission Beach (apt right on beach), hung around San Diego's/L.A.'s beaches with Kathy Ireland while she was filming movie "Alien from L.A." and I had a bit part, but she asked me to hang with her (for extra security). I kept pinching myself to wake up this dream of from how a running slug from Harper Woods, Michigan was now hanging around a Sports Illustrated Super Model (just as friends).
