Adam's Story
As most of you know I wasn't very good at the school thing. Because I didn't pursue school I went to the Army instead where I was introduce to a lot of things good and bad. One ofthe bad things I experienced was Heroin, yes Heroin. After the Army this habit be- came my everything to the point that I lost everything. My world consisted of the next fix that I thought I needed so bad. After many attemps at trying to break this habit I found myself living under a bidge on the corner of Azusa Ave. and Arrow Highway in Azusa, Ca. on 8-25-95 I checked into a Men's Christian Rehabilitation Center. I did not know what to expect but it was the best decision I have ever made. After 27 months in the center I graduated and found myself on my way to Stockton, Ca. Here in this Northern Ca. city I met my beautiful wife I was given the opportunity to raise my daughter Michelle and to top it all of off God gave me a burden to reach out to others who were or are in my situation. at my disposal the greatest tool known to man to break any addiction or habit or curse. The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! Please don't misunderstand me if anything else would of broke a 17 year heroin habit I would of gladly pursued it. I know that there are many avenues out there that are helpful to get back into a productive lifestyle but what has kept me clean and sober for the last 13 plus years is nothing but the grace and mercy of God! Class of '77 I missed you all at our 30th reunion, not by choice I had just had Spinal Fusion surgery, I want you to know that I have accomplished more that i ever expected and I kow that the best is yet to come. I am a part of this city's clergy committe and I am active in working with the less fortunate and it gives me great stisfaction to share some of the things that I have been doing for the last 30 years. Some of you might remember me, most probably don't but just remember I love you and I am praying for you and go RAMS!
