Helen's Story
Who I really am, now . . . well, mostly likely a grownup version of who I was in high school! The more I age, the more I stay the same, I think.
After graduating in 1976, I went to Bay Path College, graduated and moved to North Carolina. That was a shock! But I've lived here ever since, never returning one single time to New England, and that's my loss. I just got busy working as a paralegal in a pretty intense law office and met my husband a few years after this. We married in 1982, had 2 gorgeous kids, Nicole now 30 and Wes now 27. Sadly, we divorced in 2002. I learned much about myself and even more about in these years. More than anything, I learned that I serve a mighty God who wants the best for me and my children, and I have decided to live that good life now, in Him, more than ever. In 2005 I married the most wonderful man (Rhett Blair) and we're still boasting about being newlyweds. Between us, we have 5 grown kids and 6 grands and 3 great grands! Life is SO sweet when you really know who you are and to whom you belong.
I also enjoy substitute teaching now at Providence Day and Covenant Day Schools; it gives me time with students and flexibility to travel with my husband, or keep a grandchild on days they are not feeling well. Lovely privileges for me.
Anyways, today is a beautiful day in Charlotte, NC!
