Lisa's Story
Left Glen Arbor, Michigan '83 (my mom remarried)
[in the top of our class, spelling bee ace with Holly Fishman & Amy Broadhagen; took piano lessons, played saxophone]
Moved to Dallas, Texas in '83.
[socially involved in choir, concert & marching band (soprano sax). Active at Highland Park Presby youth group until we moved over to Northwest Bible Church. Friends with Wendy Lavender, Laurel Montgomery, Barbara Goodwin, et al (band geeks!! yay!!). Dated Stuart, Toby, Kevin, Mark & Giles. Moved to Connecticut in '87]
Was still class of '88 until we left Highland Park for Avon, CT.
[All the school moves/transfers made graduating on time tight, so I opted to make some friends in...Expand for more
Connecticut instead of breeze in for one year of high school--graduates '89 from Avon. Got art scholarships to Carnegie Mellon U in Pittsburgh. Breezed around the world on a singing tour with the Continentals in '91. Moved around some more.]
Got married in '95 in Connecticut.
Was Mrs. Connecticut-America in 1998--competed in Las Vegas for national title, but didn't grab that crown!
AA in Sign Language Interpreting; BA in Communication; was Master's Candidate in Education until I went home to be with my babes!
Now I have two kiddos--ds5 & dd2 1/2. We lived 7 years in VA Beach, and are now in No. VA (outside DC). LOVING IT!
Former TV producer. Current freelance on-call researcher/writer.
