Laura's Story
After graduating from high school, I went to Auburn and got a BS in math. Then I went to Georgia Tech for a master's degree in applied math.
While at Auburn, I met my husband, David, at Lakeview Baptist Church, and we married shortly after I finished graduate school. We have been married for 10 years, and we have lived in Montgomery, AL; Bremerton, WA; Seattle, WA; Jacksonville, FL; Knoxville, TN; Alabaster, AL; Madison, AL; back to Knoxville, TN; and we are currently (and temporarily) back in Huntsville. We have a 2-year-old boy named Nathan, and we are expecting a girl in early October.

y colleges in WA, FL, and TN. (Mr. Booth would be so proud! :) ) I have also taught piano lessons and tutored math. Now I am a stay-at-home-mom. My husband is a prosthetist (artificial limbs).
This is not the life I had pictured back in 1992. I would have predicted a more professional career and much less moving around! However, I wouldn't change things for the world. I learned pretty quickly that my personality wasn't cut out for engineering. It turns out I love teaching and being a Mom (well, most days!), and traveling to new places is exciting. (Although if we take a few years off from renting another U-Haul, that will be fine with me!)
