Chris's Story

8/14/09 - Update Do to the economy and the clients financial situation the 10 year project that we moved to North Carolina for ended up being one year. We now live in Aiken South Carolina on hole number 2 at Cedar Creek Golf Community. I am now working for SRNS (Savanna River Nuclear Solutions) as a Senior Program/Project Manager and expect this to be the last place I work. I hope we have a 30 year reunion and I get to see as many of you as possible. Take care, Chris I attended RETS College after HS and earned my Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. I spent 1 year living in Sacramento, Ca. before returning home in 1983. Between HS and this time I grew a bit. By this time I had reached my current height and weight of 6'1" 195 lbs. This would have come in handy while in High School. I got engaged but did not get married and subsequently had a baby girl in 1985 named Amber. I met my beautiful wife of almost 21 years while working for a company in Beavercreek, Ohio named System Research Labs. We had our first baby boy in 1993 and named him Cody Wayne Wills after his great grandfather. I worked for International Truck & Engine (Navistar) for 10 years as an Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer. We lived out in the country near Jamestown, Ohio until June 2008. I started work for Airborne Express as the Airports Electrical Engineer in 2003. Later I was transferred to DHL Express. Tina and I decided to try to have more children through In-vitro fertilization. With the Lords help we were very successful. On March 18th 2005 we had our babies Brady and B...Expand for more
ridget. Tina was in the hospital for 6 weeks trying not to have them and they still came 2 months early. Brady was 4.1 pounds and Bridget was 3.13 pounds. They are so healthy and have blessed our family beyond our wildest imagination. About the time the babies were born I decided I needed to go back to school and get my Bachelor¿s Degree. I did so and graduated in February of 2008 with my Bachelor of Technical Management Degree in Project Management from DeVry University. I was fortunate enough to graduate with a 3.82 GPA while working full time and continued to be very active in my son¿s sports, as well as, trying to keep up with twins and our family needs. After turning 46 years old on February 25th 2008, I found out I was part of a 600 person national layoff from DHL on the 27th. I graduated from DeVry on the 28th and began my new job search. The short story is; we were fortunate enough to have 3 offers all the same week about 6 weeks later. I chose my current position as a Project Manager with Fluor Corporation in North Carolina and started work in April 2008. The Lord has taken care of me and my family over the past 25 years and continues to do so. We have a home on hole #1 here in NC and my son and I play golf almost every day. I got a large pay raise with the new job and we are enjoying the NC weather so far. If we have a reunion I will be there. I believe it was Joe Walsh who said, Life has been good to me so far and God has been great! It seems like it was only yesterday that we were all attending CMHS and almost 30 years have past.
