Kim McNamar:

CLASS OF 1988
Kahoka, MO

Kim's Story

Well, after HS I attended and graduated from SCC in Keokuk, IA in 1990 with an Associates Degree in Business. (Heidi McKinzie and I carpooled for 2 years together - gas wasn't $4.00 then though...only $.88 a gallon!) I did some part-time jobs through Taske Force from May 1990 - May 1991. I began my first full-time job on May 28, 1991 with the Clark County Soil & Water Conservation District and I have been employed with them for the past 17 years. Can you believe that ... the same job for 17 years! Wow, I'm proud of myself on that one! :0) I am daily on the computer entering data to help local farmers with their conservation plan required by law to participate in government/sate programs. So, in essence I have not left the little town of Kahoka since my graduation day in 1988! In 1997, I met and married the love of my life on November 1st. OK - I have to admit something here ... he is a Scotland County native! I had really high standards for my mate to meet and well, hey, he fit the bill! His name is Shannon and he is originally from Memphis but moved to Kahoka in the fall of 1993 and has been here ever since. So, I think that makes it OK. We celebrated our 10th A...Expand for more
nniversary on November 1, 2007. That's an awesome accomplishment, as far as I'm concerned! We had our first child in October of 1999, a daughter - Abigaile Olivia. In January of 2000, I then went to part-time emloyment with my job and have been ever since. I usually work 3 days a week! My goal is to be at home full-time, we are working on that! Through prayer and persistance, it will happen one day! In December of 2002, our second child arrived - another daughter, Madison Grace. We made the decision in 2005 to homeschool, when it was time for Abigaile to start kindergarten. It hasn't always been easy but it is a choice that we have not regretted. It takes alot of hard work and patience but we believe that the rewards will out-weigh any hardships that may come! Abigaile will be working on 3rd grade material and Madison will start kindergarten work this fall. So, at this point in my life - I AM BLESSED abundantly and I am very thankful to the Lord for His continued grace and love! I will be excited to meet and visit with all of those who come to the 20 year reunion! Until then, have a wonderful day filled with many successes! :0) ~ Kim (Young) ~ Class of 1988
