Its been a long time since High School - I don't think I knew what the kids thought of me back then - I just assumed I wasn't liked much - and it didn't matter - All I wanted to do was drink - and I did - After graduation - things didn't change much - I drank - and I worked enough to pay off my legal bills - I got pregnant in 1987 - Quit drinking for awhile - my son was born in '88 - I started drinking again - one night a week - About a year later I ended up in some trouble and was court ordered to quit for 6 months and get counseling - I stayed clean for 2 1/2 years - Went back to school - MATC - stayed with my alcohol counseling - and relasped in 1991 - One night in July - Been sober ever since - I got on the internet for the first time in April of '93 - I remember that because I met a guy online shortly thereafter - We emailed and posted to the bulletin boards - We talked on the phone quite a bit after awhile - He seemed like a very nice guy and even wanted to come out to WI to meet me - He was from Rhode Island - So we met in person in July '93 - He came to WI for a week - and it was horrible - I was just getting over pneumonia and my 5 yo son was just getting over the chicken pox - But we had a good time anyway - He wanted my son and I to go out to RI to meet his family - Which we did in Aug - He was paying for the trip and to save him some money I choose to take the Greyhound - 24 hours one way with a hyperactive 5yo - It was a learning experience - We spent a week and a half in RI and during our trip we became engaged - He had a good job - and I didn't - so it ma...Expand for more
