Patricia's Story
Hi guys from Lula Rich. I can't believe that I recognized so many names. I'm living in Ocean Springs, MS now and really like it here. We survived Katrina, only had a little damage on the roof and lost everything in 2 refrigerators and 2 freezers.
My brother John is still in Clarksdale. I don't talk with him much. I'll soon be 63 and it is always a surprise to look in the mirror and see that "old" person.
I'm disabled now. I look the picture of health but have a lot of problems. I raised two sons and then raised 2 granddaughters. My yountest is 18 and she is still at home and probably will be for a while. She is bipolar and borderline personality disorder and has seizures. Her father, my youngest son, lives down here and that is why I moved here.

ny longer when I turned 50 because of my disabilities and started college at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I finished in 2000 at the age of 54 with a degree in social work but was still unable to work.
I'm not going to tell you how many times I've been married but I am single now and intend to stay that way!!!
I'm sure that most of you remember my mother. I lost her about 12 years ago but my dad is still going strong and lives in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He went back to the hills and still very active. Don't speak much with him either.
That's about it. Lots and lots of stuff in between but not important!
Wishing you all the best. Hope everyone has had a wonderful life and one that has not been too difficult. I have found that I am settling well into my 60s and they are not as bad as I thought they would be.
