Karen's Story
Back in school I was very quiet and shy. I didn't do much, just showed up for classes and earned good grades. I was just having a hard time.
I didn't get to finish at Deer Valley, but I did obtain my GED in 1987.
I was married in December of 1990, and during that marriage, I began college at Phoenix Community College. I wanted a degree in Social Work.
When I was about to start at ASU, that marriage ended. I pressed on and earned my Bachelor's degree in 2003.

field of behavioral health, working in residential settings. The people that live at the site I work at are receiving mental health services through the county provider.
I was married again in 2006. The photo on my profile was one of my engagement photos.
We're still married, and I've finally got my first house, which was something I never thought would happen.
And, on Monday, 9/14/2009, I will begin my work as a Site Coordinator, managing the very site I've been working at already.
