April's Story

After graduating in '91 from SHS, I attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello for 3 years on a band and choir scholarship. I majored in English and Secondary Education with a minor in Speech/Drama. I came back to Stuttgart and commuted to UALR for a semester before getting married in 1994. I started working at The Stuttgart Daily Leader in '94 as an advertising executive and married Mike Herring. We were married for 9 years and had 2 children, Brannon and Nicholas. In 2004, I remarried the sports editor at the paper, Danny Scott. I was the composing manager at the paper during that time. Danny has since moved on, and is now the sports editor at the Monitcello paper (funny how things circle ar...Expand for more
ound!). I am now the composing manager/advertising director and even had a brief stint as managing editor. I have found my niche as the ad director though and love what I do! My family lives in Humnoke, but I drive to Stuttgart to work every day. I am active in the community and the school system. Even though work takes a lot of my time and so does my volunteer work, my children are my first priority. I will put off any extra work until after they are tucked in at night. They make each day worth living, and I look forward to rediscovering life through their eyes. Both are very bright and like sports. My oldest, Brannon loves hunting and fishing. My youngest, Nick, loves playing video games and reading.
