Jill's Story
Okay, Duquesne Alumni! Time has been marching on.... although I feel like I am 25. I suppose it is finally time to reconnect and have a reunion because the days at Duquesne really shaped all of us. (for good or bad, right?) It is good to remember where we started and where our roots were planted. After high school, I went to CCAC and Cal to become a teacher. I received my bachelor's degree and subbed everywhere for 3 years and then........I accepted a full-time job as a 5th grade teacher in Duquesne. I taught for 8 years in Duquesne and I have so many awesome stories and validation that proves that I chose the right path! There is not enough space here, but I will say this, I have been in MANY schools and districts, and Duquesne kids are by the far, the MOST awesome around!! I miss them everyday!!
I married my husband Mick in 1999 and we have 2 awesome little boys. Michael is 7 and Luke is 5. They really are my life and they drive every decisio...Expand for more
n that I now make. Becoming a mother is the most fulfilling thing that I have done in my life.
In 2001, I pursued School Administration and became a school principal. I love what I do and I am able to enrich the lives of the young beautiful kids that I come into contact with on a daily basis! Last year, in the charter school that I was an asssitant principal, I had a VERY tough girl who no one could reach and she was in my office (again) and she said to me....,."Mrs. Price, I like you because, girl, I know you understand and you are a little ghetto too." When she was leaving my office, I hugged her and told her, "I am alot ghetto, and it is a good thing". I will never forget her.......anyway.,..sorry if I bored anyone! I will see ALL of the class of 1987 in the Spring of 2009!! Yes, we are a class who is having a 22 year reunion........Nothing wrong with that.. why do the years have to be in 5 year intervals??
