Merle's Story

Married a Virginian in '70 whom I met in college. Graduated in '71. Pastored two churches one in Maine (4.5 yrs) one in NY (35 yrs) current interim pastor of Blackberry Baptist, Bassett, VA. Have two married daughters and five grandsons and two granddaughters. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I have been to Israel. I enjoy hymns with theological content...new songs written by Steward Townsend and Keith/Krystal Getty. Enjoy talking with people. I'm a Civil War buff and have given two private tours of Gettysburg. h school reunion although I didn't get to talk with everyone present. I enjoy Bluegrass music...once plucked Del MeCory's banjo! Enjoyed playing competitive softball but had to hang up the spikes since wearing tri-focals and rotator cuff injury. I participate in a FBL mostly guys from our church. Golfed until recently due to a back injury. I hoped to be remembered being friendly. Was disappointed that I didn't get to attend our 50th class reunion. I'll finishing my interim ministry at Blackberry Baptist the end of July, 2017. I'm looking forward to God giving me another ministry. Still working pt with Radial, Inc..
