Mary's Story
Social worker, foster parent, grandparent, filmmaker, writer. I've made two feature length films and several short film. My films can be viewed free of charge at MaryKnightProductions.com. With the exception of a PG-13 romantic comedy, all of my films are about heavy topics like child abuse and domestic violence. I was abused as a child.. My memoir is titled "My Life Now:: Essays by a Child Sex Trafficking Survivor." It is a collection of essays, each with an individualized trigger warning. Its available for purchase on Amazon.
Logline for my only fun movie: "Identical twin sisters, one a nun and the other a lingerie model, must trade places. The lingerie model has an urgent need for medical treatment but no savings and no insurance, so she enters the convent posed as her sister. Double happy ending." The film is 87 minutes long and has been rated PG-13.
I'm happily married and have 6 grandkids. Jerry and I got married in 2010. We became respite foster parents in 2019. Foster children stay in our home when their full time foster parents need a break. (Foster parents are allowed two nights off a month). We have a child in our home about 25 percent of the time and we enjoy it!

ry school (can't remember the name). I think I went to Sacajewea Junior High, then to Thomas Jefferson.
I moved away during my sophomore year. My Dad was laid off from Boeing (sound familiar? the time of the big layoffs) and we moved to Denver. I went to inter-city Denver schools. West Denver High, then we moved to a school that seemed slightly more suburban and I graduated from South Denver High.
I was a member of this really conservative church I grew up in. I was taught everyone but us was going to hell, which was one of the factors that made me feel different. I'd like to connect and see how my classmates have changed and not changed. I'm more or less Unitarian now but miss communion so I was hoping to find a liberal Christian church when we moved to Bellingham. I didn't find a one yet but am attending synagogue with my husband who is Jewish.
One of my sons is an attorney and the other one is a psychiatric nurse. They are in their 30's.
I left the Pacific N.W. when I was 15 and was gone 30 years. Denver was okay, but I prefer living here. I ended up in Texas. I lived in Texas way too long! It was too hot in the summer for me. I'm glad to be back in the Northwest. If you like the rain, its the best place in the world to live!
