NOVEMBER TO APRIL!!! My posted picture is taken in Soweto meeting with school children as a part of a visit I led on behalf of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund-Canada. I've taken 3 groups to South AFrica since 2004. I am passionate about raising awareness and understanding of the complex issues facing poor African families. I transitioned from my career 7 years ago as a school administrator to Bodkin Educational Consulting. I host and lead international educational study tours for Ministry officials, district and school leaders. This has led to 7 visits to England with another in late June 2010, 1 to Finland with another in May, 2010, 1 to the Netherlands. I have colleagues in these countries who coordinate my visits there along with colleagues in Scotland, New Zealand and Australia, next on the list of visits. These provide participants with opportunties to meet international colleagues facing many of the same issues here in Ontario, and visit schools, tri-level reform leaders. In addition I organize an annual international educational "Quest" Conference for the York Region District School Board.
