Karen's Story
First, I've been married for 42 years to fellow Shawnee grad Bobby Lanier (class of '65).
We've lived in Midland, Texas, for the past 27 years. We have one daughter, Whitney, who married Kyle Groves in July 2007. We have two grandsons, Andrew is 3; Brandon is 1. They live about four blocks from us and we're having lots of fun with them.
I taught journalism, photography and digital art as a lab instructor at Midland College for 19 years before I retired at the end of January 2013. I've spent the last year relaxing some, playing with the...Expand for more
grandsons and their mom, taking photographs and making art, traveling a little, and supervising the remodel of our master bathroom.
I enjoy photography, printmaking and shopping. I enjoy facebook and Pinterest. Baseball and college football are the sports I most enjoy watching. Midland has a AA minor league baseball team, the Rockhounds. We go to many of their games. We also plan some of our vacations around what national league baseball teams Bobby hasn't seen in person. In fact, we only have two more teams until he's seen them all.
