Janice's Story
Wow, can't believe 40 years ago was our Senior year! Anyway, I got married in August '69 to a fellow classmate (anybody remember who that was??), but it quickly became evident that it wasn't going to work and we divorced in '72. I remarried in 1978 and have been happily so for almost 31 years. Larry Sullivan came into my life after I ran into the back of my boss' car and had my car fixed at his auto body repair shop in Fairport. We moved to Georgia and have lived in Cumming, outside of Atlanta, since 1979. Our reasons for moving? Weather and taxes!
I worked for Kodak for 8 years in Rochester and another 6 years in Atlanta, then joined my husband as his Office Manager in his new auto body repair business. After 15 successful years, we sold in '96 and a few years later I started my own business as a Mary Kay Consultant, which I still do today. Larry and I have 2 children - Joey who we adopted when he was nine (he's 27 now and has a 1-year-old son) and our daughter Lauren, who is 20 and a sophomore at Furman University in Greenville SC, majoring in Theater and German.
We love the south but still have most of my family in Rochester so come back a few times a year to visit. Larry has had a private pilot's license for a long time and we've enjoyed traveling by small plane to many places. We've had to slow down in recent years because I've been dealing with the effects of mercury poisoning since 2002. But I am getting better and will be back better than ever soon - our goal is to start traveling again and take ballroom dancing lessons - yes, our favorite show is Dancing with the Stars!
