Bob's Story

Here is an abbreviated history of the last forty years: After Harding I attended OSU, got board and dropped out. I returned to OKC and went to work for what was then WKY-TV now KFOR-TV as a camera operator and stage hand. Some of the projects I worked on are - the Oklahoma Fourth of July Stars and Stripes show hosted by Bob Hope - The Buck Owens show - Wallace Wild Life - The Sean with Ronnie Kay and Danny's Day. During that time I met Nancy Moore on a blind date at the Jock Strap at campus corner. Yea I know she went to OU but, damn the good knight kiss I got sealed my fate and we were married in Aug. 1974. We moved to Casper Wyoming where I finished an associate's degree in construction technology. I worked as a project manager for a general contractor and we generally enjoyed everything Wyoming had to offer. The cold nights in Wyoming produced two great kids, Kebi in 1980 and Mason in 1983. With pressure from our in-laws to see their grand kids we moved back to Oklahoma City in the early 80's. While working as the design department manager for a metal building manufacture I discovered software for architects and engineers called AutoCAD and became obsessed. I started Clymer CAD Graphics, Inc. and became one of the first Autodesk resellers in Oklahoma City. For the next 20 years I sold all of the Autodesk products to architects, engineers, manufactures and federal/state governments. I turned into a software engineer and created many custom applications for all the Autodesk software suite of products. In the early 2000's I sold my company to another reseller and retired. Over the years I have been a husband, father, Cub master, Scout master, little league coach, rock climber (I've climbed Devils Tower in Wyoming half a dozen times and Half Dome in Yosemite) and backpacked, skied, hunted and fished all over Wyoming and Oklahoma. Now that I'm retired I'm not just setting on the sofa channel surfing. I have a 400 sf. Heated and air conditioned shop behind our home and I restore 60's and 70's muscle cars. I currently have a 1965 Mustang show car, a 1966 Mustang project car and a 1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee project car. The kids are doing great. ilton Corp. and recently became engaged. Mason still lives in OKC and is a bar tender at the Cock of the Walk. Can you believe that? My son is working at the first bar that I used a fake ID to get into in 1968. No grand kids yet but there's still hope. My beautiful and caring wife of 35 years has found a second career. Strangely after years of raising two kids and being a full time mother, two weeks after I retired she went back to work for Sprint. I'm not too sure what that says about me but, I am the new domestic engineer in our home. (Nancy if you read this, I love you and I couldn't have done it without ya babe). Well that's about it, I'm still an old hippy from the 60's and I have the pony tail to prove it. There's a lot more but I probably shouldn't put it in writing until the statute of limitations expires. If you want to catch up leave me a message or send me an e-mail. Rock on Bob Update May 19, 2009 I have recently been diagnosed with Ataxia. I had no idea what that means so I went on line and here is the definition of Ataxia I found on the internet. "Ataxia: (from Greek, meaning "lack of order") is a neurological sign and symptom consisting of gross lack of coordination of muscle movements. Ataxia is a nonspecific clinical manifestation implying dysfunction of parts of the nervous system that coordinate movement. It causes Wobbliness, Incorrdination and unsteadiness due to the brain's failure to regulate the body's posture and regulate the strength and direction of limb movements. Ataxia is usually a consequence of disease in the brain, specifically in the cerebellum which lies beneath the back part of the cerebrum". What all that medical bull S*** means is that if I'm walking and something unexpected happens, like a person in hurry cutting me off, I can't react fast enough to avoid a train wreck. The Neurologist said there is no cure but it probably won't kill me. I get around pretty well with a Cain, it's more of an inconvenience than anything else but for the first time in my life I'm the proud owner of a handicapped tag for my car's rear view mirror. Wow, that's a mile marker in life. The Super Bee is still in the body shop and the 383 big block's parts are spread out all over the shop. Rock on Bob
