Stacey's Story
My first job was at Charles Gelles and Sons, where I got paid to sew labels and pack mens neckties to go to stores. What I remember most about it is being able to talk with my best friend while we challenged each other who could complete their orders quicker. I began working there when I was 16 and a Junior at Canton High School.
I always wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right to a point.

eterinarian's assistant for 2 years (1983 - 1985)at the Canton Veterinary Hospital. I was able to assist the doctor during some operations, procedures and vaccinations. The thing I did realize is that I have a hard time dealing with blood in large quantities! I found the science and biological aspect very interesting, but the gore was not something I could deal with every day. I enjoyed working with animals and still have that love for veterinary research, but I don't think it will go any further.
