Cathy's Story
Hi Everyone! I wanted to ubdate my profile to let you all know of some changes we've had recently. I think some of you in the Santa Fe area may remember the murder of my older brother Mike (class of 72) and his girlfriend Karen Harkness on July 7,2002 in Topeka. It has been 7 long yrs. with no arrest even though all the family knows full well who did it and have from the beginning. Their murderer has been free to live her life this entire time while my Mom has taken care of his 2 children who are amazing young adults now! Last yr. CBS 48 Hrs. took our story and we have finished the filming of it (it took almost a full year to do all the interviews etc.) Our show is scheduled to aire in the beginning wks. of the new Fall schedule (Sept.) We won't be able to see it before it aires so our family isn't 100% sure what to expec...Expand for more
t. Please if you have a chance to watch it let me know your ideas. It's been a long time coming and we are thankful for CBS's help. The Topeka Police have been forced to go back into our case and we are hoping the arrest will come soon (before the show aires would be best!) I feel some members of the family could be in danger if this aires before an arrest is made. Please keep Mike's 2 kids in your prayers and if anyone has ideas as to how to put pressure on the Topeka Police we haven't thought of let me know! The Capitol Paper occasionally will have some type of article to update the public and we've done news interviews occasionally to keep it fresh. We need your help and prayers Thanks!
