Sharon's Story
Well, here goes! I was a transfer student in my senior year. I have no recollection who my home room teach was!! So if any of you were in home room with me, I'd appreciate any input. One teacher I remember is Miss Griffith, who taught English, and the other is Mr. Larche, who taught drama.
After I graduated, I worked at the Key Bridge Marriot for the better part of a year. My Father, who was in the Air Force was then assigned to Goose Bay, Labrador, and my Mother would not let me stay in DC!!
While at "the Goose" (as it was known) I met my husband, who was a general medical officer. He decided to make the AF a career, and retired as a Brigadier General in 1989. We have lived, or traveled, all over the world. Two tours in England,, one in Hawaii, many in the US and Bill was the hospital commander during the Tet Offensive in Viet Nam. He's a really neat guy, and you would like him.
I've been a stay-at-home Mom for the most part.Have had a few really enjoyable part-time jobs, was a bank teller in VA....Expand for more
, worked in a quilt shop in Hawaii, and for the last 18 years have worked as a picture framer. All of these jobs were learned while working!! At present, I am also designing and making jewelry. This keeps me off the streets and busy!!
We have two children, Richard, who will be 45 in May and Dana who was 43 in January. They have both moved to Richland to be near us. Rich and Celest do not have children. Dana and Hans have two boys, Kyle, 17, and Evan 13. Kyle is a really good ice hockey player and is playing for a AAA (junior hockey) team in Tennessee this year. Evan loves football, and although he is tall, he still is not quite aggressive enough...I expect that will change soon!!
I had to get my yearbook to remember some of the people who visited my "site", and was surprised at how many people I DID recognize.
I'm enjoying looking at photos of those who have decided to post them. I would encourage all of you to do that.
Take care..wish there was something planned for our 50th!
Fondly,
Sharon
