Barbara's Story
So here is a brief summary of what I did after high school! Went to MCC for a short while, didn't like the classes I ended up taking, the better ones were gone by the time I registered. Worked for awhile, then went to Dental Assistants School. Worked for a great Dentist, then got an important phone call (so I thought!) from a boy I met during my last night in Isreal! It took a year for him to find me, wanted me to move to Los Angeles with him and 3 other guys in a 4 bedroom house he rented. Quit my job, and to mke a long story short, I chickened out! After all, I only knew him for one night!! But it was a romantic scenario, right?! Then I worked at Genesee Hospital for 5 years for the Radiology Dept, as a receptionist.Great experience, met some wondserful people. For the rest of the years, got involved in the retail sector. Even worked for the first Wal-Mart in New York State! and yes, we had to do the ?Wal-Mart cheer every morning! I was there for 7 years, manage to injure both my wrists and forarm, never recovered, then down the road injured my lower back! Who doesn't have back probles! I'm not complaining though, otherwise I'm pretty healthy and thankful for that!! Can't play tennis anymore! Took that up at age 30. Have a wonderful accupunture doctor, Dr. John Shang, to help me when things get a little to u...Expand for more
ncomfortable, and take certain Chinese herbs from him that really make a difference. I certainly recommend accupunture if your in pain and nothing else works for you! For the last 3 years I am helping out at an elemntary school in Penfield, they call me when they need a teachers aide sub, or help during recess. Love the kids! Became a vegetarian when I watched the DVD "Wegman's Cruelty". Horrendous acts of abuse in the farm industry. A member of the Humane Society of the United States, help out with fundraisers for the Fingerlakes Thoroughbred Adoption Center next to the track-it's about giving horses a second chance, after they come off the track, retiring or injured. Volunteered my time etc. for one of city gardens. Came out pretty good! Have been doing the gardening for 3 years now. Love summer in the city! Love sitting on my screened -in porch, drinking my coffee in the morning, watching the newly arrived hummingbirds come to my feeders, it took me 3 years to get them to stop by my garden.! Don't like the cold, hibernate too much, make up for it in the summer. Hoping enough people will want to come in an attend a 40th Reunion!! That's about it! Never been married, bad timing I think, but honestly, I really enjoy just hanging out with my talking parrots!! Sometimes men are just too much trouble! Sorry guys!!
