Linda's Story
Linda graduated in '66 and moved to Washington D.C. to work for the State Department as a Clerk Stenographe for three years. She moved to Toledo, married and became the mother of three boys who kept her busy with football, basketball, track, and baseball, at St. Joseph Central Catholic High School and throughout their college years. She remarried and became the mother of another boy! This son kept her busy with tennis, band, theater (vocalist) throughout high school. He played trombone (his mother's instrument in high school and at Bowling Green State University all four of his college years. All sons have a degree (Linda's goal) and now work in communication, business and education. Linda moved to the Columbus area and worked for Columbus City Schools as a Teacher's Aide for Special Needs students. She is now retired and lives with her son in Grove City,
OH. She is enjoying watching her grandchildren grow up. She has six granddaughters and two grandsons. She also has three dogs - Larry, Alli and Izzie. She is very family oriented.
Linda's interests include reading, all sports- but basketball is a favorite. She follows the Boston Celtics. Loves to travel to the games in Boston, Indiana, Michigan, and Chicago. Boston is her favorite place to be! She also enjoys reading, walking, shopping, and go...Expand for more
ing to concerts. She still loves to dance! She enjoys family events, vacations and outings. She especially loves spending time with her dogs.
Linda has worn many hats during her career. She has been employed as a Clerk Stenographer, Human Resource Assistant, Payroll Clerk, Waitress, Hostess, Cashier, Supervisor, Manager, Nursing Assistant, Nursery School Assistant, Teacher's Aide, Special Needs Caregiver, Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, Executive Secretary, during her lifetime. "I have worn many hats, but the one that I am most proud of is Nursing Assistant for St. Bernadine's (Fremont, OH). There was a framed saying on the wall of one Sister's room. It said, "Thank You for Working Here!" "The Pay Isn't Much, but The Rewards Earned Are Out Of This World." "My time working with the staff, taking care of the sisters and priests, the responsibility of caring for their lives, celebrating with them, as well as letting them go, prepared me for my parent's passing." "This job will always be the most memorable for me."
Linda attends all the Class of 1966 Reunions (God Willing) and loves to see and interact with the many classmates that she grew up with. She holds a special place in her heart for these friends.
