Meredith's Story
Until very recently, I was working as the Library Services Manager for a mid-size law firm in San Francisco, CA. However, in September 2008, my husband of 13+ years, Michael Casteel, and I figured out a way for me to stay at home with our 1-year-old daughter, Madeline. I have never looked back - I love being a mommy and spending time with my family.
After high school, I attended Winthrop College and received a bachelors in Elementary Education. I taught for a year, then moved to Washington DC to attend George Washington University for a Paralegal Studies certificate. I moved to Norfolk, VA, after I finished GW and worked as a paralegal. e as a paralegal and part-time law librarian, I attended North Carolina Central University and received a Masters in Library Science. I then went back to "school" and started working as an elementary librarian at Southwest Elementary in Durham, NC. I found that I couldn't stay out of the classroom, and went back to NCCU, while working full-time at Southwest, for a Masters in Information Science.
In 2003, Mike and I moved to San Bruno, CA, which is about 20 miles outside San Francisco. Mike is a research microbiologist with the San Francisco Public Utility Commission in their Water Quality Laboratories. I worked as a risk management and library services manager at Hanson Bridgett, LLC in San Francisco. We moved to Burlingame, CA, in 2007 and welcomed Madeline into our lives in January 2008.
