Krystal's Story
UPDATE : I may be staying in NY for awhile. I am getting used to the pain levels here now so it's not as bad as last year.
*****************************
Just re-registered because for whatever reason, this week I have been dreaming about old classmates. My subconscious mind missing my youth no doubt.
I've lived in many states, done many things, have been both rich and poor. I've been a chef, worked in a natural products lab, been an advisor for Native American inmates in prisons all over the country, a foster parent to so many teens I get them confused...particularly if their name starts with a J...there were umpteen J's LOL.
Hmmm. I have written for magazines. Am an expert survivalist in the wild. I paint portraits and occasionally wildlife or surreal paintings. I collect movies and have a huge library.
I have 4 kids all grown and gone...ok one just came back LOL. I am watching the grand kiddo while my daughter finishes her degree.
I currently grow and sell Irises...who knew there would be money in Irises ? LOL I live in NY and own a house in ND but am going to move in the spring...unsure where yet. Either back to Michigan or perhaps Wisconsin or Minnesota.
I became ill in 90' after an improperly administered vaccine. Have been in chronic pain ever since ...Expand for more
but have managed to maintain a life. I have to live in very cold states...hence why I am moving again. NY is not cold enough. For whatever reason sub-zero temps relieve the pain. Need to move to Antarctica. I look pretty normal. Neurontin allows me to walk and do things although I won't be running any marathons.
Other than Irises and the grand kid, I am slowly writing a book on the translations of some ancient documents. Once a geek, always a geek. Yes, I am a geek wilderness survivalist LOL Always a paradox.
I still love sci-fi and am a browncoat ( only sci-fi lovers will know what that means ). I am also addicted to SPORE.
What I want to do now that the kids are grown is find the perfect place to grow old and die. Learn ceramics, and be a hermit who sells ceramics and Irises.
Am I still eccentric ? You bet ! Even more so. Why was'nt there a "goth" crowd when I was in school ? I never fit in anywhere...but that would have worked. :) All we had were jocks and burnouts. I was'nt a burn out but at least they were nice to me so my thanks to all the burnouts who were so cool and accepting of the weird geek chick. Without you guys I would have never lasted in school as long as I did. You gave me the courage to get through each day knowing that nice people existed.
