Betsy's Story

After highschool I went off to AIT for the army and then returned in the fall to attend ESU. I decided it was time to get out of Kansas before I spent my hole life there. After experiencing the diversity in the Army I knew I could never be happy in a small town again. After a semester of college I joined the active army and went off to Germany. After 3 years stationed there I went to the Pentagon where I ended up meeting my husband. I've been married for 19 years. I have two of the most wonderful children a person could want. My daughter is 18 and a freshman in college. In a couple of weeks and my son (a high school senior) will be 17. Since leaving high school I have lived in Germany, Virgi...Expand for more
nia, Georgia, back to Virginia and Germany again, Kentucky, Tennessee and now we've landed in Georgia. It's a beautiful area and two of my brothers live close by. I went back to school 9 years ago and have since earned a bachelors, 2 masters, a masters certification and I'm currently working on my PhD dissertation. I'll be graduating next year. I work for the largest private university and teach college classes at a couple of non-traditional universities. Life has been an adventure and I've been in many countries. I'll never live in Kansas again but I do miss my old friends. I've never been one to keep in touch very well but will hopefully be able to find them again someday so we can catch up.
