Karen's Story
I am reflecting on my teen years as I watch my own children grow. I do not see the same angst in them as I experience. I wonder if this is related more to nurture vs. nature.
I believe that a number of us have probably made choices to raise our children differently than we were raised ourselves. Perhaps this is due to greater enlightenment through the times. Times have also changed and we are more diligent about our children and their safety than when we were growing up. I am still not sure if some of this perceptio...Expand for more
n of guarding closely is necessary or not. Hopefully, if we lay the foundation properly, our children will be able to make the best decisions possible given their time of life.
I have stayed in contact with a few people from high school and interestingly enough, they are people that I met and got to know after we exited the building in 1978. I am reminded that we shared a place in time never to be repeated (the 70's) and I look forward to reuniting with others over time.
