Alisha's Story
Minister Alisha M. Simmons, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was born to Nathaniel C. Armstrong, Jr. and Valerie C. Simmons, in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 7, 1980. Minister Simmons was raised in a Christ-centered family where the Word of God was proclaimed throughout her childhood. In 1998, Minister Simmons graduated from Germantown-Lankenau Motivation High School with academic honors. In July of 1998, Minister Simmons attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Technology Support and Training.
In June of 2002, at the age of 22, Minister Simmons accepted her call into ministry and entered the gospel ministry, serving as an associate minister and youth coordinator at the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, and also serving as a Pastoral Intern at the Mt. nary, formerly known as Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, located in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, with hopes of furthering her education. In April 2007, in pursuit of her educational endeavors, Minister Simmons was led to Baltimore, Maryland to pursue her Masters degree in Pastoral Counseling at the Loyola College in Maryland.
In January of 2008, Minister Simmons completed her first book entitled, ¿And It Came To Pass¿, which is due to be released in the Spring of 2008. In her book, Minister Simmons captures the essence of what one undergoes when ¿spiritual storms¿ arise and the process one must endure in order to find victory as a result of enduring the process. Minister Simmons highlights the implication that storms are present in our lives as believers, not necessarily to destroy us or consume us, but storms come to make us stronger, moving us to totally depend on God. Minister Simmons acknowledges that storms are only temporary and they simply come to pass.
