Monica's Story
Well, let's see... I wasn't even supposed to be class of 1976 because I was actually class of 1977 but was in such a hurry to grow up that I combined my Jr. & Sr. years. Then, I didn't graduate because I was 1/4 credit short (I got the GED 10 years later). I didn't graduate because I had my oldest daughter at 17 followed by her sister when I was 18. Yes, I married that guy from Plains that I was dating in high school. We did ok for 9 years, moving around west Texas until he died in an industial accident. anyone?). Then I moved to Austin area with the children to get a fresh start. That fresh start led to a very short, disasterous marriage (8 months) and a period of being single. I found a new job by accident as a Police Dispatcher and figured out I was good at it. That's what I have been doing for the past 21 years. I did have a 3rd marriage that lasted 19 years and I just got out of that one. Right now, I am enjoying the single life and remembering growing up in little Seagraves Tx when things weren't complicated. I wish my granddaughter the same kind of childhood.
