Carolyn's Story
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
I now work at a large nursing home as a nurse assistant and I love my residents and what I do..Have been doing this kind of work for at least 20 plus years
My current age is 52. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong.
Now that I have crossed that 50 year mark, its not so bad.. Now I can let go of all the stuff I wanted people to like me for and be myself.. If they don't like it, I am alright with it. I am who I am, and I like me..
My best friends would tell you I'm crazy, and insane about living life to the fullest, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and reserved ...Expand for more
till they get to know me.. That is if they dare!!!!!.
I share my home with My husband of 30 years, which I find to be exactly where I want to be.
We have 3 grown children, Crystal 32, Ricky 29 and Jethro,(no jokes now)27.. We are proud grandparents to Haley 13, Alex 4, Faith 3and a half as she likes to say, Aubrey 3 and Ricksan 8 months.. Two step grandchildren 12 and 14. We also have two dogs, one cat and 5 horses..
In 10 years, I hope to be retired and being lazy. I'm going to get there by slowly counting the days, months , and minutes to that day...I plan to sit on my porch and read and gaze out into the vastness around me. The mountains here bring a peace and serenity that calms the soul.. Everyone needs that. I feel like I am a little closer to heaven here in these mountains.
