One of Margaret's favorite quotes is:"It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish. Mother Teresa Jesus said love one another. He didn't say love the whole world. Mother TeresaMany people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus. Mother TeresaThe greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between. Mother Teresa Words which do not give the light of Christ increase the darkness. Mother Teresa There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in - that we do it to God, to Christ, and that's why we try to do it as beautifully as possible. Mother TeresaThere must be a reason why some people can afford to live well. They must have worked for it. I only feel angry when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things that we could use. Mother TeresaWe need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls. Mother Teresa Why did God lead them to the bitter waters? God had to let them see what was in them before they could be what God wanted them to be. Many of us want God to do something for us. But God has to do something in us and through us before he can do something for us. - John HageeThere is not a crown without a cross. There is not a victory without a fight. Paul said to the church, Fight the good fight of faith. Endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Take a stand and fight. Take a stand against abortion. Every child has a right to life when they are conceived in the womb of their mother. Take a stand against government...Expand for more
corruption. Speak out against immorality. We are here to please God and nobody else! You cannot cower in the corner and claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ. - John HageeMany things happen in our lives for which we have no answer. No words of explanation can comfort our hearts. Sometimes god does not make sense to us. In those times, we must trust the will of a sovereign God and know that He is too loving to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake. Someday we may understand. In the meantime, we must continue to trust and to believe that although the pain we feel is real, it is temporary. -Pastor John HageeIt is not possible for the finite mind of a man to know the infinite mind of God. The Bible says, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isa. 55:9). John HageePsychologists say that happiness is found by emphasizing the positive. God begins by emphasizing the negative. Jesus said that the prerequisite to happiness begins with being poor in spirit (Matt. 5:3). In Psalm 1:1-2, David marks the happy man as someone who first does not do certain things. Call it The Power of the Negative, if you like, but it holds three clear statements about happiness. David said that a happy man will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, will not stand in the path of sinners, and will not sit in the seat of the scornful. Notice the progression from bad to worse. You start walking in the slime, then you stand, and then you sit.David is saying that if you want to be truly happy, there are places you dont go, books you dont read, movies you dont see, and youre very careful of the company you keep. The ungodly are people who love their lives without God. They may be very moral and socially acceptable. They may even be church members who have casually left God out of their lives. But Jesus said, He who is not with Me is against Me (Matt. 12:30). There is no middle ground. John HageeThe boundaries of your circle are your choice, those you tolerate around you is a reflection of the state of your morality. Your level of morality will determine the people you attract.Just because something is accepted does not make it acceptable in Gods eyes. All forms of sexual activity outside the covenant of marriage are wrong (Hebrews 13:4; Galatians 5:19). As believers, we should let the Word be our judge of what is right and wrong.".
