Kathy's Story
I didn't graduate at Elk Grove High, but for some reason Classmates keeps sending me pics and info on people that graduated in 1969...I went to school in Elk Grove from kindergarten through 8th grade...Then we moved to Oklahoma...The last year I was at Kerr Jr high was in 1969...If anyone out there knows what happen to Jeanne Harris Smith, would you please let me know...She was my best friend from 6th grade until we moved...I am also interested in coming to any Elk Grove class of 1973 reunions....I was at the graduation...I flew in from Oklahoma to watch my childhood friends graduate...So sad, I should have been graduating with my classmates....:(..I came here and things didn't go as well as I had hoped...I had a terrible time adjusting..I have lived in Elk Grove my entire life (all 13 years), and I did not want to move...We got here just in time for me to start 9th grade...By the time I was in 10th grade, I was married...Actually a few months into the 10th grade...That of course didn't last, and I found myself a single mom...I came back to Elk Grove and was hoping to stay, but things happen for the best...I came back to OK with my daughter and remarried when she was 10...I have been married to my husband Jerry for 30 years...We live in a very small community called Slaughterville...We get lots of comments because of where we live...Life started out rough for me here in OK, but things got better when I decided God needed to be in charge instead of trying to do everything myself...I now have a 10 year old granddaughter...She is and will always be my baby...I hope to hear from some...Expand for more

I always wanted to be a Nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were almost right....I became a Certified Medical Assistant....
My hero is Jesus Christ...He is also my inspiration....
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Jeanne Harris-Smith, because She was such a good friend.
I love HGTV Bio channel, A&E, National Geographic,
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to my kids, then spend the rest on bills , some to my Church and travel.
My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong.
My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as standoffish.
I share my home with my husband and 2 Brat Terriers, which I find hard sometimes....
In 10 years, I hope to be right here in Slaughterville. I'm going to get there by staying healthy.
I cant say who my oldest friend would be...My oldest friend here in OK is Caryl Thompson_Flake...She mas married young also and could relate to me...
My first job was at Underwoods BBQ, where I got paid very little to nothing. What I remember most about it is I worked for my mother...
What sticks out in my mind mostly, is growing up in Elk Grove, riding my bike all over town...Going swimming every day thru the summer...Eating at the A&W...Playing with my friends...Life was very good in those days...Going to the creek by our house and catching frogs...Going to the First Baptist Church where I was Baptized when I was 10...
