Connie's Story

I grew up in Big Flats, WI. Lived there from 4th Grade to Sophomore year in high school then moved to Endeavor where I attended high school in Portage then in my senior year we moved to the Montello area where I graduated in 1975 from Montello high school. I always missed all my friends from Pineland & Adams. After I graduated high school, I went to Madison business school where I hoped to become a legal secretary. I left school with one semester left to get married thinking I would continue school after I was married. It wasn't to be. We moved to the U.P. where we lived for 5 years (I had a son and daughter during that time) and then we moved to San Jose, CA where we divorced. ll celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in August this year. He has 4 children and 5 grandchildren and I now my daughter has a daughter so I have grandkids ranging from 20 years old to almost 5. I love each of them but don't get to see the older ones because they live in NC. However, I love spending time with my youngest granddaughter who lives about 30 miles from me. I live in Phoenix, AZ now. My husband was born and raised in the area and most of his family (12 brothers and sisters) live in the state so it was a great place for him to retire even though we miss our friends in San Jose and my son in San Francisco. I work for a road sealant company in the customer service department and love my job but am looking forward to the time I can retire and spend more time with my family.
