Dan's Story
Several of us 'hippy types' shared a locker (I believe it was assigned to Jim Ernst). It was on the end of a row of lockers and difficult to access because of it opening on the side toward the other lockers (with all of us hanging around it). They were old wooden door lockers. I switched the hinges to the other side as well as the bracket for the padlock (although we never locked it) A janitor switched it back when it was discovered a few weeks later. They couldn't figure out how someone managed to run an extension cord down the hall to drill the screw holes without being seen. I guess they'd never heard of a manual crank drill...Expand for more
! So now the secret is out.
I switched to Ovid Elsie for half a year in 10th grade, then back to St. Johns. I moved to Lansing and went to Sexton for 1 term in my Senior year, then finished the year in DeWitt, which had higher graduation requirements (I was slightly short of their credit requirements but had more than enough for St. Johns). I went through a GED program 2 years later in Lansing and because of my qualifying high school credits, I was issued a regular St. Johns High School diploma instead of a GED diploma. A couple of years later, I went through the HVAC Associates degree progam at LCC, graduating Suma Cum Laude.
