Sheila's Story

Some days are diamonds and some days are rocks. So, I enjoy the beautiful, simple things in life; the sound of an ocean's waves, the colors in the sunset, the feel of rain as it falls upon your face. If that doesn't say enough for someone to understand, then they never will. I am just divorced from my ex-husband Dan. Tried to make it all as easy as possible. We lost our son Luke who was 3 1/2 yrs old, after a lifelong illness. I've walked through hell at pediatric icu with my son so many times and died a little with every admittance to this place. I believe in the simple things; love, life, laughter, with the ones close to your heart. I have three wonderful, smart kids all in college and I believe it's time to try and live again. New beginnings and change is exciting and adventurous, with all I care about in my heart and hopefully sharing that. On with your bad selves. I always wanted to be a Mountain Hermit when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I do not more than every. I prefer to blow off steam by using a speed bag, punching bag, numchuckus, martial arts, meditating, and if all else fails a glass of wine of shot of whiskey and do drawings. Read of ancient civilizations and physics. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have humorous coworkers , a professional, reliable work detail , and work alone or with people as a team that will contribute to each other's needs and smile once in awhile to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Hero....My 3 1/2 yr old son that endured more than a big man could and my other three children that lost their brother and turned it into a positive by giving and contributing to those in need. I lived in many places growing up. Traveled a lot. Maybe, I will again. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is My Son, Luke, because Just to smell the lavender shampoo, hold him close and tell him how much I love him.. Obessions....Many. Martial Arts movies. I love reading about the human psyche and brain function. I am also a huge Trekkie, (Star Trek) fan. The unknown, paranormal existence and the power of prayer. My biggest surprise: I had more children than anyone in my family. Daughter that is 25, twin boy and girl that are 19 and Luke would have been 7yrs old. How much I care about children and what I've done to make a difference. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel bathroom and add on a shop with all the tools and machines needed.. My dream home would be Log cabin with large shop, swimming pool, hot tub and about 300 acres in mountains.. What I've learned from ...Expand for more
my children: Individuality. Patience. The bond a family holds when everyone is accepted for who they are and how special each other's dreams are. And most of all, even if I'm a parent; I still make mistakes and have hard hurdles come my way. I taught them and showed them that I will always get up, wipe my knees off and go on. They brought life to my world and a desire to be more than I was raised to be, so they could have better. If I won $100 million, I'd give $1,000,000. of it to St. Jude's Children Hospital, then spend the rest on my kid's and grandaughter's future financial well being, build a care home in Northern California, specializing in the treatment and care of children with serious, fatal, or intensive care needs and their families, so they remain together and not out of town. I would name it Luke's Friends. and then travel the United States and abroad, meanwhile seeking out a variety of children's needs; from inner city programs to the one's that need it the most to desolute areas maybe needing clean drinking water. My current age is 47. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old, settled down as in stable, and boring.. I was so completely Wrong!!! I want to skydive, fly a plane, travel. Just live life with wherever the wind takes me.. Well, worked as medical back office, Unit Clerk in hospital, Case Manager with Social Services, Caregiver for son, Most important "Mom". My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as something completely different than I am. Misjudged so many times.. Still wear the blue jeans and t-shirts around house. Dressed professionally for job, but never got used to the nylons. Loved the heels. Made me about 6'3", but I like the heels. I share my home with my son Zack, which I find great, because he is so neat and organized.. Soccer in 4-8th grades. We were champs. Queen toga 1982 (ha, ha). What to do over again if able? Don't have enough time to list it all. There's much I wouldn't change. But, there's always those things you didn't see coming. In 10 years, I hope to be Healthy and Active. I'm going to get there by Peace of mind at home, excercise and diet.. Kenny. Known each other 31 yrs. Still friends. Still the same. My first job was at Butte Co Employee Assoc, where I got paid $2.80 hr to do clerical. What I remember most about it is The really nice people that worked there and their helpfullness. . Coming home from school on a rainy, cold day and walk into the house to the sweet aroma of home made bread and cinnamon rolls that my mom made quite often during the winter.
