Valerie's Story
Hello, Fellow North High Polar Bears!!!
I am excited about finding this website to connect with former classmates. I cannot believe it's been 30 years. It seems like only yesterday.
Well let's see . . . I still live in Columbus, although I've tried to escape a couple of times during my lifetime. In the late 80's, I lived in Irvington, NJ and for a short time I lived in Chicago, IL. Fun places to hang out for a spell, but much too much for a midwest gal like myself. Buckeye country is home to me!!!
I have three chilren and a stepdaughter: Mark (28), Jessica (26), Natasha (21), and my youngest LeVondra (18). I have three grandchildren and one on the way: MarZhawn (7), Neveah (3), Nathalia (1). My son Mark is getting married in June and my stepdaughter Jessica will be married in July 2009.
After graduation I went to OSU for a while, had my son and never finished college. GO BUCKS!

warding position in Human Resources at Nationwide Children's Hospital. After 10 years at Nationwide Children's, I recently accepted a position in December 08, as a Post Secondary Education Coordinator at YouthBuild Columbus Community School (YB). YB is so unique in it's make up because it is a drop-out recovery charter high school. Not only do the students receive their high school diploma, but they also receive a NCCER certification, which is a construction certification recognized nationwide. It is indeed a pleasure "sowing good seed" into the lives of these young people. Very rewarding.
Now that all three of my children have graduated from high school, I'm currently enrolled in school to finish getting my college degree!! Yeah! It will be a long journey, but it has always been a passion of mine.
In addition, for the past 8 or 9 years, I've had a custom basket and event planning businesses.
Well, that's it folks! It's amazing how you can sum up 30 years of your life in just a few paragraphs.
Although our school is closed and the years have gone by, I will never forget my classmates and my life at old North High!!!!
