Monty's Story
Well, after high school, I studied electronics at Port Arthur College. Then, I went to work at a television station as a television engineer. My entire career has been spent in television. Over the years, I have designed and built quite a few television studios. I have also worked at a production house, a television network, two universities, and a broadcast equipment manufacturer.
After my kids got older, I went back to school and graduated from LeTourneau University. Now, I¿m working on a master¿s degree part time. I should graduate in about two years. Actually, I will probably graduate just about the time I retire.
I¿ve been married twice. My first marriage lasted about 5 years, and wasn't worth talking about. My second wife, Linda, and I have been married for 34 years. I have 4 kid...Expand for more
s, and 9 grandkids.
I haven¿t been back to Port Lavaca since the 10 year reunion in 1978. But, a few months ago I used Google ¿Terrain¿ to tour Port Lavaca online. There have been a lot of changes. The house I grew up in is still there, but it has been painted an interesting color. White¿s Barbecue is still there, too! Wow, it¿s too bad they don¿t ship their barbecue; I¿d be a regular customer. Google doesn¿t take you by Land¿s, so I can¿t see what is there now. And, the old Moo Moo¿s I worked at looks like it hasn¿t been a Moo Moo¿s for a very long time. Hey, if you miss Moo Moo Burgers, email me; I can tell you how we made them.
I read the Port Lavaca Wave online a couple of times a week. I always read the police report and the obituaries; I guess that just comes with age.
