Kathy's Story
After leaving Anniston I moved to Ft. Hood, TX with my family. I spent the summer there which turned out to be very boring for me not knowing anyone. I then move back to FL to live with my paternal grandmother and attend college. I only attended the local Jr. College there for one semester before moving back to Texas with my parents so that I could be close to my son's father who was attending college in Dallas, TX. Yes, I was pregnant and clueless. After my son was born I married and that only lasted 18 months. While working at Ft. ry and we traveled for the next 14 years before he retired at Ft. Jackson, SC. We lived in CA for a while then in Columbus,OH where he was assigned to the Ohio State University. While in OH I continued my education. In 1989 we made our final move to SC with our two children. My husband was an amazing man. He spoiled my children and me with his smile, laughter, and kindness. Sadly on 4-26-1994 he passed away suddenly. I later to return to school and earn a degree in Social Work. For the past 12 years I have worked for a non-profit that offers parenting education services to families with a history of, or at risk for abuse and neglect.
