Hello, Avonworth classmates! Hope everyone is doing well. In 1986, I transferred to Twinsburg, Ohio through PPG Industries. I worked as an Inside Sales Rep in Auto Glass. It was a nice job, but I wanted to do more. I left PPG to finish my undergraduate degree at Kent State University. I had been going to school at night for years!! I liked going to school so much, that I stayed and got my MBA from Kent. While in graduate school, I met my husband-to-be. We married after he completed his MBA. We bought a house in Twinsburg, had two children, and moved to Kannapolis, North Carolina. My now ex, grew up in the Carolinas and wanted to move down here. After divorce, I moved to Concord, which is next to Kannapolis. These cities are north of Charlotte (in case some of you do not know where Concord is). You might be familiar with the Speedway, as racing is pretty big around these parts. I live around a lot of folks in the industry. I have two smart children. A son, Kyle, who is 14 (8th grade) and a daughter, Kourtney, who is 11 (5th grade). My ex and I share custody. I work as a Professional Development Coordinator at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. We serve multiple counties and, like many community colleges here, have several locations around the two counties. North Carolina has an amazing community county system of 58 institutions around the state. We need them to feed the wonderful four-year schools we have down here. I am going to update you on what I have been doing because Classmates has charged me $39 and change to be on this site for another year. When I saw the charge on my credit card, I called them to cancel it. The woman there said that when I joined for the low $10 rate a year ago, I made some type of promise to renew in a year.
