Marie's Story
Hello all who might visit this page. After New Mexico, life took me to northern California up until the last few years, where we now live in a rural area in Washington State near the Columbia River.
We have 3 grown children, all married, and 7 grandchildren. The newest was born to our youngest, in May of 2009.
We have 20 acres and a few horses, dogs, and cats. I've got an easy 8 mile drive to work each day, where I work at our little local hospital. I've been here 2+ years, and have been working in medical insurance billing for 12 years. It is my niche. I love it.
I worked as Lead Biller at a small hospital in northern California when we moved. It was a "caught in the middle" spot, with much responsibility and no authority. I was glad to leave that stress behind.
But the most significant event in this gals' life occurred in 1979 . . . when I became one of those "born again" Christians!!
I've been active in church and Christian organizations since then. I began with teaching kids, and moved on to...Expand for more
bookkeeping and singing. The last 7 years in California I enjoyed serving on the "Worship Team" and also did the bookkeeping for our good sized church.
It was a little bit quiet here the first two years, but this past year, I've gotten busy again, with a few organizations, like Aglow, a Christian women's organization. You'll probably not be surprised to hear I'm serving as Treasurer there.
Wherever I go, people seem perfectly happy to let me handle the numbers portion of things, and that's fine with me, since it seems to be no problem.
I also have a quarter horse that I got last summer. I am loving my time with her, wishing I had more. With work, family, church activites . . .and our WIND!, it doesn't happen often enough.
I also have a delightful little doxie that greets me warmly when I come home.
We are blessed to be surrounded with family. Our oldest son lives just 3 miles down the road, our youngest son, lives north just 90 minutes away, and our daughter lives 3 hours southwest of us, in Oregon.
