Jan's Story
I moved to Edmonton after graduation and worked with AGT (now Telus) for 2 years. During that time I reconnected with a former boyfriend who is now my husband, Darrel. We married in June 1973 in Calgary. We moved to Devon, Alberta, had 2 boys and lived there for 6 years until the bug to own a motel got us on the move. Selling off the house and packing up the family, we moved to Vauxhall, Alberta in Sept. 1980. 24/7!!!!!! I couldn't wait to get out of there!! bought another house and lived there until January 1990. We then bought an acreage by Nisku and we are STILL here! We love it. Our sons are married with children.....giving us 4 grandchildren. They consume our lives and we try to spend as much time as possible with them. We also have 2 horses and do a lot of riding in the spring, summer & fall. In November of every year, we travel to Phoenix, AZ where we spend our winters until end of April. Both Darrel and I are retired and enjoy life together!!!
