I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wonderful idea. As it turns out, they were surprised. I went to Huffstetlers Business School for awhile, got a job with the County Health Department. Worked in the Vital Statistics area for six plus years. Then I went to work at Brookley Field. Worked there for a couple of years and then they began to downsize and different jobs went to different Air Material Bases. My position transferred to Philadelphia PA, the Defense Industrial Supply Center (DISC) I worked there from 1963 til 1966, met some very interesting people. Married the love of my life in early 1966, had 2 children, both boys, bought a house and thought we were there for life. HA in 1971 my husband decided we should move to Mobile because my parents were here and my Mom was in poor health. We moved in May 1971 and been here since. I went to work at the Corps of Engineers in 1978 and retired in Dec 1995. Both of my sons graduated from Theodore as did my daughter. Mom passed away in 1979 the night Frederic paid a visit to Mobile (what a night that was!) My husband passed away in April 1995 and my Dad in Nov 2001.
