Cassandra's Story
They say everyone has their own story to tell. Well, this is my story...I graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1986 and married a wonderful man I met at Fort Lewis Washington shortly after. Actually, January 3, 1987. I've had a wonderful opportunity to travel the world. We were stationed in Germany two times, Arizona, Texas, Virginia and my husband went to Korea and did one tour in the Gulf War. I'm still married after 22 years of marriage but I can honestly say it hasn't all been easy but I can say that I'm glad we've endured. We have one son who is 13 years old and quite ambitious! I went back to school and got my Bachelors in Psychology, Masters in Healthcare Administration and currently working on my MBA. Who knew I would turn out to be so ambitious. I currently live in Tucson, Arizona and have been here for almost four years. After my husband retired from the Army in 2005, we decided to settle down here. I go back to visit my family in Tacoma, Washington...still on 96th Street! I was recently up there with my son to visit family for Memorial Day. I currently work for a Regional Behavioral Health Agency which is publicly funded by the state servicing both children and adults with their behavioral healt...Expand for more
h needs. In all my life travels and life experiences, I can say that I don't have any regrets. I'm much more settled now and no longer feel like I'm spinning out of control. I guess age will do that to you. We did have an opportunity to visit Hawaii last August and are planning to go back to Hawaii for Christmas this year. Overall, God has truly BLESSED me with a good life, family and friends. I must admit that my highschool years were not all that glamorous but I made it through and certainly cannot go back and change the hands of time. However, I can say that time has been favorable towards me with a lot of exercise to credit' I'm still in a size 4 currently. We are a pretty active family and do a lot of activities outside - one of the great things about living in Arizona. Overall, I've dealt with past issues and have come to realize that nothing comes easy without hard work and preservering until the end. I thank God for the life that he has allowed me to have. As I continue on with my journey, I look forward to all that life has for me and genuinely embrace it. If I had to define who I have become since back in the day from graduating Mount Tahoma High....I would sum it up and say "A Diamond in the Rough"
