After graduating I went to work for McDonald's. Then I worked at Mr. Hero then Burger King, so for a total of 23 yrs I worked in the fast food business. I got married on June 27, 1981 to Ken Himes. We were married for a total of 19 yrs and 11 days. He passed away from a bad heart in July of 2000. On Memorial weekend 1994, Ken's sister called us and asked us to take in 2 of their great nephews to raise. We did, and because Ken and I could not have children, I thought I would never hear the words, "Mommy & Daddy" at all. Then to have these two wonderful boys called me mommy after living with us for 24 hours brought tears to my eyes and the memory still does today. After Ken passed away, I was a single mom for 7 years then I remarried a man named Andy Burless on July 14, 2007. While being a single mom for a while I had to go back to work, so I started looking for a job. My insurance agent hired me as her secretary and sent me to school to get my Property & Casualty insurance license.
