Helen's Story
Hard t believe that I've been retired for almost 6 years. Our "puppy", Sophie, turned 6 on August 3, and her older brother, also a standard Schnauzer (actualy a half-brother) will be 9 at the end of September. We took the trip of a lifetime from January through March of 2012, starting in Los Angeles, heading west through the Pacific - numerous islands and a stop in Tasmania.
We were able to pet kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, and wombats. Also several cities in New Zealand and Australia before returning to Los Angeles via Hawaii.

a little oversize for a Standard Schnauzer and Doofus) at the age of 13. Tom fell and broke both his ankles, had two surgeries on his right ankle, and was in rehab for 6 or so weeks.
Tom and I celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary on 1/12/2018; Tom died of a heart attack on 4/12/2018. Sophe is also gone, so now it is just me a Niki, a sweet but somewhat strange Standard Schnauzer. I have neuropathy and have been using a walker for a couple of years - fortunately I have 3 dog walkers.

FYI, if any of you knew my sister, Frances Danis, class of 1966, she died last August of cancer in Austin.
