Curtis's Story
HI EVERYONE, As you can tell music plays a large part in my life as it did back "in the day". It's also quite apparent that THE KINKS have a very special place in my heart. That has to do with the sweetest person I have ever met in my life. That Sweet Heart is Katie Richards. She was a HUGE Kinks fan and I am proud to say that she is my daughter. On July 3 2007 she passed away at 14 years old. When she had to do a project for her 8th grade English class (music & lyrics , the impact on society) she went right to Ray and the boys. The tune, "Education" off of the "Schoolboys In Disgrace" CD, her grade A+ (sweet) !!! If I could, I would like to be able to thank Ray Davies for his ability through music to have such a positive impact on such a special little girl. It was great to see her smile and laugh at Rays little digs on life. Katie will be missed more then anyone could imagine, but with the Kinks, those sweet memory's are just a "push of a button" away. At her wake, the church was packed with her classmates. The last thing at this beaut...Expand for more
iful service was a slide show of Katie growing up. The music that Katie's two younger sisters Amber and Ashley selected for the slide show was The Kinks, the song, "The Last Assembly" off of the same School Boys CD, (yes, not a dry eye in the church) With "tears in the back of my eyes" still to this day, I would like to thank the Kinks for my 40+ years and Katie's 14 years of pure enjoyment. God bless the Kinks and long live The Village Green.
P.S. It's still hard for me to write about Katie but if you Google up "Katie Richards Medford OR" It will give you more information on Katie. (I would put a link to this site but Classmates will not let you put a web-page here???)
Please if you read them DO NOT be sad.(Katie would not of wanted that)
The articles will tell you a little bit more about a very special Girl.
So instead of being sad, let the articles give us a "greater" appreciation for "all" that we do have.
God Bless and always, always, always, show your kids you love them.
TAKE CARE
