Carolyn's Story
I've been in southeastern VA since the fall of 1969 when I came here to go to college. I've been a dental hygienist since 1971. Eventually went to grad school, got married, taught at Old Dominion Unversity in Norfolk, VA full time for a while, went back to work in private practice and have babies, now back to teaching part-time and working in private practice. We have 2 grown/married daughters (seen above at the youngest's graduation from Longwood University in 2006) and one grandson. Life is good, married to a great guy for almost 35 years, glad to be alive...Expand for more
!!!Looking forward to many more years (my Mom lived to be 84 so I hope to be like her!!!)
Several years later...we now have 3 grandchildren and another on the way. After practicing dental hygiene for 42 years I am ready to retire (part-time) in January 2014 and work only 2 days a week teaching as adjunct faculty in a dental hygiene school in Williamsburg, Va. I will start to draw social security as well and spend time with my family and attend to my plants/flowers and whatever else interests me! It is about time to slow down and I am looking forward to it :-)
