Jean's Story
I am often described as an absolutely wonderful human being, kind, caring, independent and bossy. My strongest talent is nurturing. I seem to have a gift for taking care of people.
My grandchildren call me Gee Gee which suits my personality. I have been divorce twice. I am seldom lonely, I lead a very rich full life. I am grounded spiritually and morally. I place great value in honest and intergity.
I love to cook, to me it is an art form and I often feel like an artist when I am creating a new dish. I like gardening, it is something one can do alone and get great results.
I get great pleasure in curling up with a good book, watching an good movie, playing with my grandchildren and just hanging out with friends. Yes I hang out even at my age.
I do not believe in plastering ones picture all over the internet. I am a private person and yes I still look great. But people should be interested in who people are not what they look like.
I have a Master Degree in Social Work and spent 30 years managing social programs, I do not say managing people, but programs. One supervises people but manage things at least that is what I believe.
I love travel and s...Expand for more
ince retirement I have travel with my sister Linda Hicks, Gardner class of 69. I guess I should have said that I am the daughter of Claudie Lee Hicks and Mattie Mae Thrower Hicks of Strong. I have lived in Little Rock for 34 years in the same house. I have 5 brothers and Sisters: Jimmy Hicks, Linda Hicks Davis, Beverly Hicks White, Randy Hicks and Rickey Hicks. I still have many relatives in Strong, Freehope and Pine Grove and can be found in my cousin Syrece Gill's front yard each year the Saturday before Mother's Day.
I am very attached to family. In my travels I have made it to Austrailia, Jamacia, Grand Cayman Island and Cancun, the Bahamma's and most of the sates in the contential US. Last year took me to:, San Antonio, Nashville, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Las Vegas, Memphis to visit Sarah Melvin Hurt and of course Atlanta.
I thought retirement would mean rest, and in someway's it does. However I am busier than ever with a thrieving Avon business, my Field Ministry, gardening, friends and grandchildren. Life is good and Jehovah has blessed me beyond measure.
My mother and father were always my inspiration. They set high standards and expectations.
